As a photographer I am extremely picky with the quality of the camera im using, but I have issues with bringing a bag full of lenses and flashes everywhere I go. This is something that i've been looking for quite a while, a small enough camera that I can carry with me everywhere without sacrifing the DSLR quality i'm used to working with.
Besides the Sony, I was also considering the
Fujifilm X100
and the
Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1
. The X100 has especially brought a lot of positive feedback from every photographer I know that uses it, with some users going as far as selling the rest of their gear and dedicating themselves to a very simple system.
Even though I have some issues with the focusing speed of the camera, im fast becoming a big fan of it. The 16mm lens keeps the whole package quite small and it attracts very little attention from bystandaers. Also it includes quite a few presets like panorama, selective coloring and a few more. As you can see from my pictures im a fan of the high contrast black and white preset.
Here are a few snapshots taken using the camera. All of these are straight from the camera with only the presets used as editing. All of these photos are taken in Manhattan New York in areas like the Financial District and Columbia University.

Hello Senen:
Great pics. Considering that they are mostly at night I can see that the low light performance is very good. Tell us more about portability of the 4/3 system. Would you go traveling to say, Madrid with it and leave your DSLR at home?
Un abrazo, IML
That's a great question Ismael.
Right now I only have one lens, so maybe I would bring my DSLR, but I can see myself in the future just leaving the Nikon for professional work and this camera being with me most of the time.
